Uhuru Kijiji means freedom village. Freedom means experiencing a state detached from certain personal or social constraints. A state in which thoughts are allowed to flow, actions are practiced consciously and integratively, and openness and process orientation are paramount.
We – Sabine and Michael Gierse [Samicheal Co.Ltd.] – have invested in a wonderful place in Bewjuu, directly on the Indian Ocean, where we are F R E E and would like to share this feeling. This little corner of the world is a safe haven, a haven of peace, a natural oasis with endless opportunities for development.
Uhuru Kijiji is also a place of respect. We are aware that we are only guests on this planet – that we are only guests in this magical land. Accordingly, we respect the local culture and work hand in hand with locals and newcomers from all over the world. Mutual support and learning from each other are fundamental aspects of the values we live by. Our friend and security officer Ibrahim is also already part of our small, growing community.
Our vision is to organically revive a small freedom village in this magical place – together with people with whom we share our life values, such as freedom and respect, and with whom we can grow together. A warm, friendly atmosphere is just as important to us as respecting our own freedom and privacy.

Community and individuality in harmony with nature.

Conscious reflection, conscious language, conscious use of resources and conscious nutrition are also deeply rooted in our ideas of living together in the Freedom Village. Living together free of substances such as alcohol or nicotine (if, for example, you fancy a glass of wine, there are great opportunities around our plot to do so).

We offer like-minded people the opportunity to build their own small, fine bungalow on our property. The maximum size of the bungalow should not exceed 40 square meters. This makes it possible to build a total of 4 to 6 bungalows and create an inspiring, supportive and freedom-loving community. The public living area with a fantastic roof terrace, communal kitchenette, garden and soon a pool area will be available for communal living.

Retreats, workshops or conferences on various topics are held on the property two to three times a year. What exactly takes place when, where and with whom can always be found on our events page. Of course it is also possible to be part of the events. At the times of the events, the Freedom Village will be open to participants and it is possible to rent out the bungalows.

With Uhuru Kijiji we have already created a small place of peace, tranquillity and well-being and are happy to live in harmony with nature and in co-creation with wonderful villagers.
